The management of type 1 diabetes mellitus in children and adolescents is a challenge for the whole family. Children are not small adults! The personal care, professional relationship and attention to age-appropriate development are the main focus of a paediatric diabetology practice.

As a competent team consisting of an experienced paediatrician and a diabetes nurse specialist, we offer outpatient diagnostics and individual therapy for all forms of diabetes for our patients up to the age of 18 years old. Our aim is to adapt your child’s diabetes management together with you to the daily challenges such as school, outings, birthday parties and much more.

Services in paediatric diabetology Starnberg

  • Outpatient education and establishing treatment for children newly diagnosed with diabetes mellitus
  • Routine check-ups (usually every 3 months)
  • Outpatient insulin pump training
  • Outpatient education for patients, their parents and carers
  • Continuous blood glucose measurement with a glucose sensor
  • Ultrasound examination
  • Laboratory diagnostics with competent laboratory partners
  • We offer individual training sessions at any time as required. These are particularly useful in new phases of life, e.g. starting or changing school, or when learning for the driving licence.
